Joëlle Leandre (Aix-en-Provence, 1951), contrabaixista francesa, é um dos grandes nomes da história deste instrumento. Colaborou nos anos oitenta com dois dos maiores vultos da arte do último século, Merce Cunningham e John Cage, tendo este composto especificamente para si. Tocou com Anthony Braxton, Nicole Mitchell, Ernst Reijseger, Sylvie Courvoisier, Fred Frith, entre outros. Cumpridos recentemente 40 anos de carreira, Joëlle Leandre é das mais fulgurantes figuras da música contemporânea europeia.
